The Polish-born, 82-year-old Jewish American Lillian Gewirtzman, residing in New York City, and her thirty-year younger German counterpart Karla Nieraad, director of Stadthaus Ulm, collaborated to produce an anthology of autobiografic essays of descendants.
It contains texts by Lillian Gewirtzman and eleven American authors, children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors: Andrea Bolender, Laurie Englander Dubner, Leora Klein, Meryl Menashe, Izabella Nagle, Sonia Pilcer, Gregor Reinbold, Wladyslaw Sidorowicz, Aaron Schwartzbaum, Rena Schwartzbaum and Daniel Terna, as well as 12 authors from their parallel generation in Germany.
